The Problem

Most people stretch what hurts. The ACS Method finds out why.

Pain and tightness are usually the result, not the cause. A stiff hip shows up as low back pain. Weak stabilizers show up as sore knees. Lifting heavier on top of an imbalance only makes the imbalance stronger. Real change starts with knowing exactly what your body is doing.

The Method

Three steps. Every client. Every session.

A

Assess

We test before we touch anything. Range of motion, strength, balance and side to side differences are measured and recorded, so every decision is based on what your body actually shows.

C

Correct

We restore what is limited using assisted stretching, mobility work and nervous system regulation. Stretching is one tool here, not the whole job.

S

Strengthen

We lock in your new range with targeted strength work, starting with the weak and underused muscles that protect your joints. Range you cannot control does not last.

Every ACS session ends with a retest, so you can see and feel the difference.

Why It Works

Built on how the body really adapts.

  • Strength builds mobility. Research shows strength training through full range improves flexibility about as well as stretching does.
  • A calm nervous system lets muscles let go. Slow, controlled breathing is linked to a calmer stress response, which makes deeper change possible.
  • Load keeps you strong as you age. Loading your joints and bones builds strength and bone, and balance training lowers the risk of falls.
  • Measuring keeps it honest. Testing and retesting turns guesswork into clear, visible progress.

Shawn Taylor, founder of The ACS Method

The Founder

Created by Shawn Taylor

The ACS Method was developed by Shawn Taylor, a mobility and recovery coach whose work began with brain to body training and grew into hands on work with pro athletes, D1 programs and everyday clients. Over years of sessions, one pattern kept proving itself: lasting results came from testing first, correcting with purpose and then building strength. That process became The ACS Method.

"Stretching was never the whole answer. Assess it, correct it, then make it strong."
